Dorothy Caroline Murgel Crawford

Dorothy Caroline “Dottie” Murgel Crawford, 79 years old of Washington, died Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Allegheny General Hospital.

She was born August 31, 1942 in Cecil, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Behling Murgel.

She attended Venice Presbyterian Church. She was in the first graduation class of Canon-McMillan High School in 1960. She enjoyed reading, coloring, cheering on the Steelers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She worked at Fairmont Supply, then as a teller at the Union National Bank in Cecil, and retired as a Merchandiser for Target stores.

Surviving are daughter, Suzanne Fretz (Hugh Travis Whitlock) of Washington, son, Scott (Debbie) Crawford of Canonsburg, grandchildren, Brittney Crawford, Kalyn Fretz, and Tyler Crawford, step-children, Pam, Mary Beth, and Bruce, sisters, Marlene Cole of Canonsburg, Bonnie Charlier of Cecil, and Lisa (David) Hradil of Sturgeon, two aunts, Ruth Boyan of Cecil, and Anna Murgel of Canonsburg, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Dock Crawford and brother Warren Murgel.

Friends will be received 12- 4 P.M., Sunday, August 7 at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services 3378 Miller Run Road, Cecil, PA. where services will be held at 4:00 PM with Pastor David Perry officiating.

Private interment will be in the Washington Cemetery.
