Betty Jane Stewart

Betty Jane Stewart, 91 years old of Gladden, on July 2, 2024, pulled a "Williamson", put her coat on and went home to heaven from her daughters house.

She was born June 6, 1933 in Gladden, PA. Daughter of the late John and Lena Claymeyer Williamson.

She was a proud member of the original Green Machine Marching Band where she played the drums and a life long member of Gladden United Presbyterian Church, where she married her husband, James Stewart, on July 15, 1953.

Together with her husband Jim, she founded and operated J&S Excavating for many years. She was an avid baker, making incredible wedding and birthday cakes, a delicious candy maker and an amazing cook! Betty loved April Fools Day and weekly Sunday family dinners.

Despite the many losses she faced in her lifetime, Betty found immense pride and joy in her grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the matriarch in every sense of the word.

Surviving are daughter Sharon (Jamie) Schidek, son Albert (Donna) Fiorentini, grandchildren, Jacky (Rob) Drazick, Stephen (Brandi) Schidek, Sandra (Shaun) Calloway, Michael (Seana) Stewart, Leah (Eric) Schnelzer, Linsey Stewart, Cody Stewart, Chris (Jen) McAndrew, Katie (Will) Bolin, Erin McAndrew, Jordan McAndrew, Madelyn McAndrew, Stacy (Denny) Love, Amanda (Ryan) Oesterle, and Amy (Alex) Evans, great-grandchildren, Dylan and Evan Drazick, Ashton, Brennan and McKenna Calloway, Corey and Savannah Schnelzer, Sloane and Ellia Stewart, Lexy Owens, Sebastian Evans, Asa McAndrew, Eloise and Violet Bolin, Logan and Lucas Oesterle, Eve and Ethan Evans, Seth and Chloe Cramer, and a baby girl on the way! Great-great grandchildren, Celeste Morgan and Christopher Owens, daughter in law, Debi Stewart and son in law, Michael McAndrew, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, son, Larry Stewart and daughter Susan McAndrew. She was the last remaining sibling among her 7 brothers and sisters; Alex, Robert and Jack Williamson, and Marnie Kirkpatrick, Ethel Behling, Donna Slovik and Dolores Sachini.

Friends will be received 1-3PM and 6-8PM on Sunday, July 7 at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA 15321, where a funeral service will be held at 10AM on Monday, July 8.

Interment will follow in Venice Cemetery.
