Albert Michael Franjione

Albert Michael Franjione, 89 years old of Cecil, died peacefully surounded by family on Wednesday, July 13 in The Greenery, Canonsburg.

He was born June 28, 1933 in Morgan, son of the late Sam and Mary Valentino Franjione. On June 16, 1956 he married his wife Mary in St. Mary Church, Cecil.

He graduated from South Fayette High School and attended Kent State University. Albert served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957 at Bethesda Hospital as an ambulance driver and then aboard the USS Wisconsin as a captain’s driver and Personnel Man 3rd Class.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary Church, Cecil American Legion, and U.S.S. Wisconsin Assoc. he was a former member of Cecil #3 Vol. Fire Co. He enjoyed golf, and was a starter at Fort Cherry Golf Club. He liked cruises, wintering in Florida with his wife, and spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.

He worked as a head Meat Buyer for Super Valu, Belle Vernon, retiring in 1995.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Georgette Saut Franjione of Cecil, daughter, Sandra (Tom) Long of Canonsburg, son, Albert M Franjione, Jr. of Washington, four grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Klemencic of Washington, Sasha Franjione (Lavar Martin) of Canonsburg, Teah (Greg) Zawatski of Canonsburg, Samantha (Kyle) Spaniol of Cecil, great-grandchildren, Emilie and Cailee Klemencic, Zoay Randle El, Storyanna, River Grey, and Arrow Layne Zawatski and Thomas Joseph Spaniol. sisters in law, Diane Franjione of Bridgeville and Munaii Franjione of canonsburg, brother-in-law, Louis Saut of Cecil, as well as nieces and nephews.

Albert was preceded on death by his brothers, John and Joseph Franjione.

Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, July 20, at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA. where prayers of transfer will be said on Thursday, July 21, at 9:00 am followed by Christian Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:30AM.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township where full military honors will be accorded by the Canonsburg VFW 191 and the U.S. Navy.
