Norma J. Thomas

Norma J. Thomas, 92 years old of Cecil, died Tuesday, May 31 in Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She was born May 23, 1930 in Canonsburg. Daughter of the late Samuel Earl and Helena Neish McNary.

Graduate of Canonsburg High School class of 1949 and became a homemaker.

She was a former member of Crossroads Church, Bridgeville. Norma enjoyed reading and doing word searches. She also loved hearing the stories of her family as Cathy did her family's genealogy.

Surviving are daughter, Catherine (late James) Pigford of Cecil, son, John G. "Charlie"  (Kathy) Thomas, Jr. of Cecil, grandchildren, Jim (Robyn) Pigford, IV of Washington and Jason Pigford of Cecil, Nicole (Jason) Lucas of Cecil, John W. (Kristi) Thomas of Canonsburg, great-grandchildren, Isabella, Autumn and Cody Lucas, Elijah, Zechariah, Lydia Joy and Rachel Thomas, brothers, Earl (Bev) McNary of Washington and Ronald  McNary of Prosperity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Thomas, Sr. and four sisters, Shirley Rutan, Barbara Spiller, Virginia Brilla and Patty McNary. She raised her nephew, William A. Spiller, from age 2 until his death at 12 1/2 years old.

Friends will be received 10 A.M. - 12 P.M., Friday, June 3 at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services 3378 Millers Run Rd., Cecil, where services will be held at noon on Friday with Terry Theiss officiating.

Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Jefferson College Historical Society or the Cecil Township Historical Society.
