Nora Britt Coligan
Nora Alice Lewis Britt Coligan, 85 years old of Cecil, died August 12, 2024 her summer home in Lantz Corners, PA.
She was born September 24, 1938 in Tazewell, VA, daughter of the late McKinely and Wornie Vestel Lewis.
Nora worked as a cashier at the former Thrift Drugs in Bridgville. She was Presbyterian by faith, was a social member of the Cecil American Legion, and enjoyed visiting the casinos.
She loved spending her summers at her home at Lantz Corners in the Allegheny National Forest. While there she enjoyed nature, the Humming Birds, feeding chipmunks by hand, and she fed the bears marshmallows daily. She caught many fish but wouldn’t bait the hook or take fish off.
Surviving are sons James (Benny) Britt, Jr of Washington, and Mark Britt of Cherry Valley, daughters Deborah Andree of Canonsburg; Brenda “Kay” (Mark) Gilbert of Hickory; Bonnie (Louie) Stewart of Muse; grandchildren, Luke britt, Missy Sowinski, Tonya and Patty Fluharty, Brandy Aiello, Kayla Gilbert, Travis and Jesse Britt, great grandchildren, Nathan and Brittlyn Pruski, Tyler Lesjak, Ava Dailey, and Branson Connelly, and a brother, Melvin Lewis of Blueville, VA.
She was preceded in death by 1st husband James Britt, Sr in 1986 and 2nd husband Donald “Dee” Coligan in 2019, seven brothers, Joseph, Robert, David, Willie, Jeff, McKinley, Jr, and Charlie Lewis, and a sister Minerva Roten.
Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt. 50) Cecil, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Interment will follow in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
