John Richard Szupinka

John Richard Szupinka, 76 years old of Cecil, died Thursday, May 26, 2022 in his home.

He was born July 12, 1945 in Washington, son of the late John Felix and Elizabeth Szafraniec Szupinka.

He graduated from Chartiers- Houston High School and joined the Marines serving as a corporal during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Dormont- Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club, and enjoyed trapping and hunting.

He worked as a Police officer in Houston, PA, then Westland Coal Mine, and retired from Mayview State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide.

Surviving are  his wife, Mary L. McCabe Szupinka of Cecil, a son, Chris (Laura Beth) Szupinka of Manassas, VA, and two grandchildren, Erica and Ethan Szupinka.

He was preceded in death by parents, and a brother, Lyle Szupinka.

To honor his wishes there will private services entrusted to The Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
